Birth centenary of (late) Rev.S.D.MANGALADOSS


11.01.1911 to 11.01.2010

 

With profound reverence and thankfulness to God, we recall the life of our father at Gell  Memorial School, Fernhill, Dunmere family, among Toda christians and as Presbyter of CSI churches in the Nilgiris.  We rededicate to serve the community for God's glory.

You need JavaScript enabled to view it A contribution has been made for the purchase of St.John's gospel to be distributed in the remote rural villages of Dharmapuri District.

Part of our enterprise is to promote church organists and violinists. Number of our trainees are serving as Organists in different churches, both the main line and independent churches. On the third week of November 2007, 22 students were sent for the music exam conducted by the Royal School of Music and Trinity College, London and all have passed with 21 securing merit. This year 36 stuents attended the exam from 1st to 4th of December 2008.

Occasionally, depending on our resources, we help the needy children in remote rural areas with note books, writing material and clothing. Those who are interested in sharing this ministry could contact one of the addresses in this page .

PAST PROGRAMMES:

  1. Mobilizing resources to feed 30 healed leper families.
  2. SELF HELP GROUP for women at Kaniyur village through recycling of waste cotton for twenty women since February 2004 – 2006.
  3. A Sewing machine for the use of the villagers.
  4. Christmas celebration at Kaniyur village.
  5. Medical help for a 35 year old family man with Kidney transplant. A Presbyter has been encouraged to have the Kidney transplant after waiting for 8 months for a donor. Heis recovering well and has joined the ministry in December 2007.
  6. An young man who burnt his hands and chest due to sstove burst, has been helped to recover with the help of friends. He has joined the carpentry shop to continue his trade since November 2007.
  7. Meachins Friendship Library for two village churches to promote literature and knowledge. Revs Charles and Barbara Meachin and their family have promoted the villagelibraries and the development of the village ministry.
  8. A computer for a village to promote IT skills and job opportunities. This is primarily the initiative of Rev Timothy and Michael Meachins and their families. Since March2009 internet connection has been given to the Meachin Friendship Library computer for the people to communicate with others through internet and to browse their areas interest to increase their knowledge.

In a remote village area children needed clothing and small gifts during Christmas. The Gospel of John is being distributed in that area. Target is 100,000. 40,000 have beendistributed. Another 60,000 copies are needed at the rate of 60 paise per copy. We have forwarded the help that came through and close this appeal .
